I’m proposing a Stephen King Title Challenge for Smallville.

I mean, damn, there are just *so* many titles that would work. I was amazed when I actually sat and looked at them all.

I don’t have a place to host submissions as of yet (I'm working on that, I swear), but I’m tossing this out to get any interested parties started. Eventually, I hope to have a centralized location to archive all submissions... until then, feel free to leave links in the comments section here, or email me.

I’m not really putting a lot of restrictions on submissions. All stories should be at least 1,000 words. Any rating, any pairing, gen/het/slash... it’s all good. Any questions, feel free to contact me.

[Edited: You know what? Screw the word count... just gimme what you got, baby! ;)]

Below is a list of possible titles. Good luck!

So, wait, what exactly do we have to do? Write a story using the title and basic plot of one of Stephan King's books?

I'm very confuzzled.

You write a Smallville story, and use a Stephen King title. Period.

The plot is up to you!

It's rather sad that I couldn't manage to meet the single requirement you had -- this is only 700 words. *sigh*

But... you inspired me anyway, so I figured I'd post the link for your perusal *g*

Slod-- Great challenge. And, Miss Slodwick, I am laughing pretty damn hard at the fact that one of the titles is "Pretty Pony". Now, Missy, I'm pretty sure I remember you promising me a story called Nerodi's Dirty Pony. I'm still waiting, but my patience is running out. Please write a pretty pony story, complete with Nerodi's Dirty Pony references. My birthday's coming up.

Nerodi.

Sure! I left a few off the list because I really didn't see how some of them would work, like "Christine", but if you can work one in, more power to you!

I'm just happy people are responding. I was so excited when I saw the list of titles, and saw how many actually just scream to be SV fics. ;)

Still no sound emerges, but she is so close she can feel the small puff of breath that comes with the 'w'. His tongue is not moving, so she draws his finger very gently between her teeth. "Water," she says once more, letting him feel the dash of her tongue against his fingertip, and an expression of sweet toddler cunning crosses his face. "Wuh-tah," he whispers. Then he is crowing, his hand slipping from her face to slap at the bathwater between them. "Water, water, water."

Dude!! This is freaking adorable! I *love* the baby!fic... and you did a beautiful job. Just absolutely lovely.

Thank you!

As a temporary measure, how about a new LJ entry, with links to all the stories so far? You could just keep editing it to add new stories when people write them. Then when you finally find space, all you have to do is copy&paste the links into a web page and you're set. :)
